The number of incidents due to reactive hazards demonstrate the need of training for professionals and for students in the field of Thermal Process Safety. The specific difficulty in this field is that the assessment of thermal risks requires knowledge in physical chemistry as well as engineering knowledge. Hence, in order to teach this knowledge, it must first be simplified. The strongly non-linear behaviour of reactors in runaway situations also requires specific teaching methods. Different didactic tools are presented: case histories, numerical simulation, building a tool box (MS-Excel), E-Learning, Thermal Process Safety App, role game with a virtual laboratory are presented. The text concludes with some considerations on teaching professionals in the industry and students in universities. 相似文献

Various products, including foods and pharmaceuticals, are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Thus, temperature monitoring during production, transportation, and storage is critical. Facile indicators are required to monitor temperature conditions via color changes in real time. This study aimed to prepare and apply thiol-functionalized covalent organic frameworks (COFs) as a novel indicator for monitoring thermal history and temperature abuse. The COFs underwent obvious color changes from bright yellow to purple after exposure to different temperatures for varying durations. The reaction kinetics are analyzed under isothermal conditions, which reveal that the order of reaction rates is k−20°C < k4°C < k20°C < k35°C < k55°C. The activation energy (Ea) of the COFs is calculated using the Arrhenius equation as 50.71 kJ moL−1. The COFs are capable of sensitive color changes and offer a broad temperature tracking range, thereby demonstrating their application potential for the monitoring of temperature and time exposure history during production, transportation, and storage. To elucidate the crystal growth process of hematite in high-temperature lead-free multicomponent alkali borosilicate glass, which is essentially important to control the color of red overglaze enamels, frit and hematite mixture is heat-treated and subjected to microscopic observations. Hematite particles slightly grew due to sintering at low temperature. Once the glass matrix formed near the softening point of frit, hematite dissolved into glass fluid. Hematite crystal growth concomitantly ensued with decrease in the number of hematite particles via Ostwald ripening as the temperature increased. The grown particles exhibited an anisotropic morphology with straight outlines reflecting crystal planes, the morphology of which is completely different from those grown by sintering and particles prior to heating. These results suggest that comprehensive understanding of frit and hematite from the perspectives of glass science and chemistry as well as powder technology are important to truly control the color of red overglaze enamels. 相似文献

The delayed failure of SiC fibrous reinforcement has continuously been investigated to warrant the long term performances of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC). Chiefly assessed on multifilament tow samples to alleviate some handling difficulties, subcritical crack growth (SCG) parameters are however ruled by structural artifacts which hinder the identification of intrinsic filament behavior. In this paper, we propose to estimate the true filament parameters for 5 fiber types from bundle behavior using a recently communicated Monte Carlo algorithm integrating flaw and stress distributions through a deterministic fracture mechanics law under Paris’ formulation. So computed tow lifetime are broadly dispersed, encompassing raw data, and show a structure-dependent scale effect, revealed by nfilament>ntow where n is the stress exponent. The relationship between SCG coefficient and chemical composition of the substrate is discussed and highlights the major effect of doping elements (Ti or Zr), oxygen or hydrogen content. 相似文献

目的:研究抗坏血酸(ascorbic acid,AsA)-还原型谷胱甘肽(reduced glutathione,GSH)循环代谢在水杨酸处理采后甜瓜诱导的过量H2O2清除过程中的作用。方法:用4 mmol/L水杨酸浸泡‘玉金香’厚皮甜瓜10 min,测定处理后果实常温贮藏过程中丙二醛(malondialdehyde,MDA)含量,分析活性氧的积累水平、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase,SOD)和过氧化氢酶(catalase,CAT)活力,以及AsA-GSH循环过程相关酶活力及产物和底物含量。结果:水杨酸处理降低了果实MDA含量,第10天处理组MDA含量较对照组降低14.6%;显著提高了果实O2-·的产生速率和H2O2含量(P<0.05),其中处理后第2天O2-·的产生速率高出同期对照组的1.9 倍,第6天H2O2含量高出对照组果实29.7%;提高了果实SOD活力,但抑制了CAT活力,说明H2O2的清除可能是依赖于除酶促系统外的其他系统。此外,水杨酸处理提高了果实抗坏血酸过氧化物酶、单脱氢抗坏血酸过氧化物酶、脱氢抗坏血酸还原酶和谷胱甘肽还原酶的活力,增加了AsA和氧化型谷胱甘肽的含量,降低了脱氢抗坏血酸和GSH的含量。结论:水杨酸处理诱导了厚皮甜瓜果实的氧爆,抑制了MDA产生,由水杨酸诱导产生的过量H2O2主要依靠AsA-GSH循环系统清除。 相似文献

Developing low cost, highly efficient, and long-term stability electrocatalysts are critical for direct oxidation methanol fuel cell. Despite huge efforts, designing low-cost electrocatalysts with high activity and long-term durability remains a significant technical challenge. Here, we prepared a new kind of platinum-nickel catalyst supported on silane-modified graphene oxide (NH2-rGO) by a two-step method at room temperature. Powder X-ray diffraction, UV–vis spectroscopy, Raman, FTIR spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results confirm that GO was successfully modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES), which helps to uniformly disperse PtNi nanoparticles. Cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, CO-stripping and rotating disk electrode (RDE) results imply that PtNi/NH2-rGO catalyst has significantly higher catalytic activity, enhance the CO toxicity resistance, higher stability and much faster kinetics of methanol oxidation than commercial Pt/C under alkaline conditions. 相似文献

As a non-thermal processing technology, high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) can be used for starch modification without affecting the quality and flavour constituents. The effect of HHP on starch is closely related to the treatment pressure of HHP. In this paper, we investigated the impacts of HHP treatment pressure (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 MPa) on the microstructure and retrogradation characteristics of oat starch, established the retrogradation kinetic model and elaborated the mechanism of HHP treatment inhibiting the retrogradation of oat starch. Results show that HHP treatment caused the microstructure of oat starch experienced crystallisation perfection (100–300 MPa), crystallisation destruction (400 MPa), crystallisation disintegration and gelatinisation (500–600 MPa). Results of oat starch retrogradation showed that, after treated at 500 MPa for 15 min, the recrystallisation rate of oat starch was reduced, the formation of nuclei at the early stage of oat starch retrogradation suppressed and its nucleation mode was changed from instantaneous to spontaneous, otherwise, the mobility of water in oat starch gel system reduced. Therefore, 500 MPa treated for 15 min can inhibits the retrogradation of oat starch. In this study, the effect of high-intensity ultrasound (HIUS) (200 and 400 W for 0, 5, 10 and 15 min respectively) on conformational changes, physicochemical, rheological and emulsifying properties of scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) myofibrillar protein (SMP) was investigated. HIUS-treated SMP had lower α-helix content and higher β-sheet content compared with the native SMP. HIUS treatment induced the unfolding of SMP and increased the surface hydrophobicity. The particle size of SMP decreased and the absolute zeta-potential increased after ultrasonication, which in turn increased the solubility of SMP. The conformational changes and the improvement of physicochemical properties of SMP increased the ability for SMP to lower the interfacial tension at the oil–water interface and increased the percentage of adsorbed protein. As a result, the emulsifying properties, rheological properties of SMP and storage stability of emulsions were also improved. In conclusion, HIUS treatment has future potential for improving the emulsifying properties of SMP. 相似文献
